on the beach

The Alexander Technique is taught through a series of individual lessons.

During the lesson the pupil experiences standing, sitting and moving with increasingly less effort and tension as the body's mechanisms that balance the pull of gravity are reactivated.
This is accomplished through a combination of verbal instruction
and gentle hands-on guidance.

With each lesson pupils learn for themselves how to recognize and unlearn habits of tension interfering with good posture and effortless movement as well as learning how to prevent such habits from forming in the future.
Lessons are on a weekly basis except during the first month in which slightly greater frequency is recommended.
